Reading , the heart of Berkshire originated  in the 8th century as “Readingum,” which was named after the Anglo-Saxon tribe Readingas (“Reada’s people”). The first written record dates to 871 during a battle with Danish invaders. After the Norman Conquest, William the Conqueror granted the area to Battle Abbey. By 1086, Reading was listed as a borough in the Domesday Book. The are vibrate locations that can be found, The Reading Abbey Ruins which was founded by Henry 1 in 121.  Historical delightful Victorian town gardens called Forbury Gardens, the garden that is known for it beauty.  it is located on far from the Reading Station.  When mentioning Reading, the Oracle  which is a large shopping centre by the River Kennet,  it full of good restaurant and shop where many people go to shop and eat The Rivers Thames and Kennet were very important for trade and helped the town grow. Reading is also home to the Madejski Stadium, where Reading Football Club plays. Prospect Park is a big green space perfect for families and walks.
